Each week focuses on one Security+ exam domain and concludes with a practical project designed to reinforce the concepts covered in class.

Week 1

Domain 1 - General Security Concepts (12%)

Build the foundation every cybersecurity professional needs. You'll learn security controls, the CIA triad, Zero Trust architecture, change management, cryptographic concepts, PKI, certificates, hashing, encryption, and digital signatures.

Week 2

Learn how attackers operate, how systems become vulnerable, and how organizations defend themselves. You'll identify threat actors, attack vectors, malware, social engineering attacks, and enterprise security controls.

Hands-On Project: Conduct a threat-modeling exercise on a web application, identify attack surfaces, and propose mitigations for each exposure point.

Week 3

Domain 3 - Security Architecture (18%)

Learn how secure environments are designed. We cover cloud, hybrid, and on-prem architectures, segmentation, virtualization, IoT security, resilience planning, backups, recovery, and business continuity.

Hands-On Project: Design an enterprise network architecture including a DMZ, internal network, secure administration zones, WAFs, NGFWs, and jump servers.

Week 4

Domain 4 - Security Operations (28%)

Explore the operational side of cybersecurity, including vulnerability management, asset management, IAM, MFA, SIEMs, endpoint protection, incident response, threat hunting, and digital forensics.

Hands-On Project: Analyze a real-world vulnerability report, determine CVSS severity, identify attack paths, and prioritize remediation based on business risk.

Week 5

Domain 5 - Security Program Management & Oversight (20%)

Learn the governance, risk, and compliance side of cybersecurity. You'll explore risk management, vendor assessments, audits, compliance requirements, security governance, and awareness training programs.

Hands-On Project: Calculate SLE and ALE values, evaluate qualitative versus quantitative risk, and create a vendor risk assessment checklist.
